asos africa ss16 collection in collaboration with soko
I’ve always been fascinated by African (Ankara) prints which makes sense cause I’ve been brought up with it seeing my mom and dad wearing it during special (African) occasions. I had no idea that Asos had an Africa collection for several years now.
Asos has recently launched it’s 13th Africa collection (SS16) in collaboration with the London based designer called Christine Mhando (also known as Chi Chia) and the Kenyan clothing workshop SOKO. The clothes are designed, cut and manufactured by SOKO which means it enables the fair and safe employment for the poorest communities in Kenya. The collection consist of six designs across 18 styles which are inspired by the East African prints.
In my opinion the collection looks absolutely amazing. I love the way the designs are very modern and traditional because of those vibrant colorful African inspired prints. This collection is definitely a summer must-have that would look stunning on everyone! What do you think of Asos’ Africa SS16 collection? Would you wear it?
